OUR EXPERTISE IN QUALIFIED WELDING

QUALITY AND INNOVATION IN WELDING

Our Qualified Welding Division is the core component of our production tool. Our team of fitters and welders works under the supervision of a welding coordinator in order to guarantee strict compliance with the most demanding welding protocols of the market.

Our activity is geared around three main components: control of welding qualifications, control of the last‑generation welding equipment and a unique quality assurance system.

OUR WELDING QUALIFICATIONS

  • We have an active database of more than 100 Welding Procedure Qualification Records (WPQR) and Welder Qualification Records (WQR). In connection with new projects, we are able to initiate new additional qualifications in a very short time.
  • Our local partnerships with inspection organisations and mechanical testing laboratories allow us to reduce the deadlines for new qualifications to a strict minimum.
  • Our welders are qualified (WQR) in accordance with the following standards:
    • ISO 9606-1 for European projects
    • ASME IX or AWS D1.1 for American projects
  • Our welding procedures are qualified (WPQR) in accordance with the following standards:
    • ISO 15614-1 for European projects
    • ASME IX or AWS D1.1 for American projects
  • When we initiate the manufacturing of new parts, we prepare a welding book which contains a mapping showing all the welded joints, as well as a WPS (Welding Procedure Specification) for each joint according to the standard ISO 15609-1. Those welding books are written in French and English.

OUR WELDING EQUIPMENT

  • In order to guarantee the highest level of production quality, we calibrate our welding equipment at least once per year and even twice per year for some specific projects
  • We offer the following welding solutions:
    • Manual MIG-MAG welding – Max. power 500A
      • Non-pulsed current and pulsed current solutions
      • Synergic curves for stainless steel and aluminium applications
  • Robotic MIG-MAG welding – Max. power 500A
    • Arm stroke: 6,000 mm
    • Max. load: 4 metric tons
  • Manual TIG welding – Max. power 300A
  • Automated TIG welding – Max. power 220A
    • Application in butt welding of rings and sheets – Thickness 0.5 to 3 mm / Length 1,100 mm
  • Submerged arc welding with flux, max. power 1,000A
    • Application in very thick longitudinal welds / Length 6,000 mm
    • Application in very thick circular welds / Max. diameter 2,500 mm

WELDING QUALITY ASSURANCE

  • Our production operators are supervised by a welding coordinator who guarantees the proper performance of welding operations in accordance with the qualified parameters and ensures the highest level of quality for all weld beads made in our workshop.
  • Our welding activity is certified in accordance with standards ISO 3834-2 (general welding quality) and EN 15085-2 / CL 1 (specific standard for railway applications).
  • Audits are carried out at regular intervals by duly authorised external organisations in order to guarantee the strict compliance with the implemented procedures.
  • We have our own NDT operator (level 2 certified in accordance with standard EN ISO 9712) for the visual testing and fluorescent penetrant testing of the weld beads. As applicable, we call on external service providers when magnetic particle, ultrasonic or X-ray testing is required.

Thanks to the high level of precision applied to these welding activities, we are qualified to make highly technical components for various sectors such as the nuclear industry, the petrochemical industry, offshore oil platforms or railway machinery.

We make every weld bead with the utmost care and, as a result, we are in a position to guarantee the highest level of quality for all the products that we manufacture.
